We have a collection of tens of thousands of vehicles in the MoD and Chinese ones represent a very small number.
But regardless of if you’re traveling in a Chinese car or a non-Chinese car, our instruction to our people is not to plug Ministry of Defence technology into their car, not to have conversations at a secret level in any car, because of the growing threats of eavesdropping that are present in all vehicle, to only have those confidential conversations in protected areas. This is a wise and reasonable thing for anyone concerned about safety.

When it was put to him that it would be prudent for the ministry to cease using every cars from China, the minister replied: ‘That’s exactly what we’re investigating at the present time.”
